UTA Announces Summer Maintenance Projects With Possible Travel Impacts

Riders, Drivers and Pedestrians in the Areas Should Learn How the Transit Improvements Could Affect Their Travel During Construction Season

SALT LAKE CITY (April 30, 2024) — The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is gearing up for a series of essential maintenance and improvement construction projects across the transit system between May and October.

UTA has carefully planned construction projects with few service disruptions so riders can continue to rely on transit. Drivers and pedestrians in the project areas may also see temporary changes.

“Our goal is to carry out these necessary improvements while ensuring that our services remain as uninterrupted as possible,” said Jacob Wouden, rail infrastructure project manager at UTA. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of our community of these short-term impacts as we work to improve and maintain the quality, safety, and reliability of our system long into the future.”

Riders are encouraged to visit rideuta.com/construction for detailed information on each project, including specific route changes and detour maps for traveling in and around the area during work. Riders can also sign up for text and email service alerts to receive updates about specific routes.
