Rockwell the Rock Snake has a new home with the Utah Arts Alliance! The UTA Community Engagement team is working with the community of Draper to move Rockwell the Rock Snake to its future home at the Art Castle (915 West 100 South) in Salt Lake City. The community artwork will be part of a magical Art Sculpture Garden. We will be moving Rockwell to its new home the week of May 6.

We’re providing an opportunity on Thursday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to retrieve any rocks you’d like to keep. UTA Community Engagement and safety staff will be present to coordinate the pick-ups and ensure rail safety protocols are followed.

With this transition, we are asking the community not to enter the railway to view, pick up, or drop off any rocks. The snake is still on UTA railway and property, where the same rail safety rules apply:

  • Do not enter the railway and tracks
  • Do not trespass
  • Do not bike or skateboard in the area

We hope to help Rockwell continue its efforts of promoting youth engagement and making a positive impact through community artwork.
